All-metal flexible couplings have no wearing parts and the core components are designed for unlimited life, so proper maintenance and care can make the product run efficiently for multiple cycles. However, due to the need of field operations such as sealing system maintenance, unit system testing, and rotor replacement, it is inevitable that couplings, as connecting parts, have to be passively disassembled and reset often as required. Therefore, customers sometimes require backup products or assemblies to meet the need in the actual operation of the factory.    

For high performance couplings, we recommend that users have a complete inspection every 18 months to observe whether there is any abnormal condition in each part, and make proper record according to the maintenance instructions. Normally, dry couplings (diaphragm and disc) designed and manufactured to API standard can operate continuously for at least five years.
